Berlinetta X72

Berlinetta X72 interprets the X1/9's sleek lines and slender body to create a unique and recognizable guitar. The chambered body makes it light and easy to handle, while two humbucker pickups give it the power it deserves and make it a real all round riff machine.

In 1969 Bertone presented the Runabout prototype in Turin. As always, Gandini, who was responsible for the design, hit the nail on the head with his unconventional styling and rear-engined architecture. In 1971, during a visit to Bertone, Gianni Agnelli saw a production coupé based on the Runabout. It was love at first sight. Against all odds, the avvocato imposed his choice on the FIAT staff. 1972 saw the official presentation of the FIAT X1/9 at the Turin Motor Show. The little FIAT sports car was a runaway success, and was produced until 1989 (Bertone took over production in 1989). The United States was the promised land for the X1/9, where it was nicknamed the "Baby Ferrari".
